Allow Users to Adjust Settings

Postby jasonsenters » Wed Apr 05, 2017 4:18 pm

In my environment, our operators do not have local admin rights on the machines that use Touch-It. I would like individual users to be able to make adjustments to the settings to allow them to customize their keyboard functionality. Some users want it to remain static and others like it to follow ect. I have changed the permissions of the TISettings.exe to allow full control, but it seems that is not allowing changes to be written to the registry (I assume that is where the settings are stored). We are using version 5.12 on Windows 7 Pro systems.

I'm afraid that the settings are global and not user-based.

But we add this to wishlist.

I am not looking for per user settings. The machines that utilize your keyboard software are on our forklifts. All windows machines auto-log in as the same service account. That windows login does not have admin rights. I would like for the users of the machine to be able to adjust the settings. I have marked the TISettings.exe to run as admin, but the settings the users make do not get stored. How can I grant access to settings for users without local admin rights?

Please try raising the rights on this registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Chessware\Touch-It
